ICARM uses your ORCID iD to sign you in — there is no separate ICARM password. If you do not have an ORCID iD yet, you can create one along the way.
What we ask for, and why
After signing in you will be asked to complete a short researcher profile: your name and e-mail address, country and state, institution, highest degree and the year it was awarded, employment type, and your fields of expertise.
These are the fields ICARM reports to the National Science Foundation for everyone who takes part in an institute program. We collect them once, from you, so the report reflects what you would say about yourself rather than what someone else guessed. Most of them are pre-filled from your public ORCID record, so this is usually a matter of confirming a few answers. Your e-mail address is the one field ORCID never releases, so you will always need to enter it yourself.
Registering creates your profile; taking part in a particular workshop, summer school, or visit still goes through applying to it or accepting an invitation.
